Before & After

My First Completed Piece!

I found this piece on our local "for sale" Facebook site for $10................pretty sad looking huh?  But I love the style and the detail on the pedastal and legs.

My handyman (aka boyfriend aka exhusband ..............haha confused yet??) suggested that we remove the sides from under the table.

I absolutely LOVED doing this stain design on the table top!  I found my inspiration here.  I was anxious to get started so I sanded down the bare wood and traced the flower design, grabbed the Ebony stain and went to town!  I have to admit that I didn't have alot of hopes of it turning out and figured I could always sand over it and start again. BUT to my surprise it did turn out and I'm so proud of myself!! :) :) :)

After about five coats of Polycrylic this is the finished product:

On the base of the table I used Satin Brushed Nickel paint by Rustoleum.  After painting I then used a silver metallic patina glaze which made it turn out very nice!  I actually am planning on going back and putting a few coats of clear gloss over the base of the table.  Lastly on the feet there is metal hardware that I painted using Rustoleum Oil-Rubbed
 Bronze paint.

This table is now being used by 'ME" in my living room :)

Below are a few pictures of the staining process.
